I coach your child one-to-one, and I work alongside you. Every way of working with me includes time for parents:
The Signpost Session: two hours, with time for your child and then time for you. You get a written summary within 48 hours, with action points for school conversations and home life.
Steady Through: six sessions for your child, plus two 30-minute parent check-ins, each followed up by email.
The Gentle Path: twelve weekly sessions for your child, plus a monthly parent check-in, followed up by email.
You speak to me directly, not a booking team, and your child sees the same person every session. Sessions belong to your child, so I share what's helpful with their permission. That way they know it's a safe space to be themselves.
This isn't a parenting course, and it isn't about your parenting.

Yes, both. I offer face-to-face sessions within five miles of Tunbridge Wells, and online sessions across the UK if that suits your child better.
-
Yes. I work with families who are still waiting for an assessment, as well as those who already have a diagnosis. Support should follow your child's needs, not wait for a label. I won't diagnose, and I don't tell parents their child is "probably" neurodivergent. I'll get to know your child and work with you to figure out what would make things a bit easier.
I'm a coach, not a therapist or psychologist. If your child needs clinical support, I'll say so and point you in the right direction.

Book online here. You can also call me on 07859 740854 or email ruth@thegentlepathcoaching.co.uk.
The call is free and there's no obligation. We'll have a proper chat about your child. If I'm not the right person, I'll tell you honestly and help you find who is.
What does The Gentle Path Coaching charge for one-to-one support for a child who is struggling with school?

Steady Through: £465, or two payments of £232.50
The Gentle Path: £925, or four payments of £231.25

It depends on how much support your child needs right now. My options are:
The Signpost Session: £195 for a single two-hour session, if you want a clear first step
Steady Through: £465 for six sessions, if your child needs support through a tricky time
The Gentle Path: £925 for twelve weekly sessions, if your child needs more support and building back up
Payment plans are available for Steady Through and The Gentle Path. You're paying for time with me and support in between, not a programme. The first chat is always free.

I coach neurodivergent young people aged 9 to 19, face-to-face within five miles of Tunbridge Wells or online.
I'm a Level 4 child and adolescent mental health coach (adult coaching coming soon). I'm autistic myself, and I spent ten years as a teacher, so I know how school works from the inside, and I'm on your child's side.
When a child can't face school, I start by understanding what's making it feel so hard, rather than pushing them back in. Your child gets one trusted adult who isn't you, so home can feel more like home again.
I'm a coach, not a therapist. If your child needs clinical support, I'll say so and point you in the right direction.
-
I offer online sessions for young people who find that easier than meeting in person. Your child still sees the same person every session, and you still speak to me directly.
-
I don't follow a set programme. I listen, get curious about how your child's brain works, and notice their strengths as well as what's hard. Then we work out together what would make things like friendships a bit easier.
Understanding comes first. Strategies tend to stick when a child understands their own brain. You don’t need a diagnosis to start. Coaching is solution focused and supports your child where they are now.
Every child is different, and I can't promise outcomes. What I can promise is that your child will be listened to and taken seriously.

You don't have to wait for an assessment to get support. In school, support should follow your child's needs, so it's worth talking to the SENCO now. Your local SEND information and advice service (SENDIASS) can give impartial advice.
If you'd like help working out where to start, the Signpost Session gives you two hours: time with your child, then time with you. You get a written summary within 48 hours, with action points for school conversations and home life.
It starts with a free discovery call: Book yours now.
